Frequently asked questions

When is refinancing worth it?

Usually when you'll stay in the home longer than the break-even period and the new loan lowers your total cost, not just your payment.

Does a longer new term cost more?

Often yes. Restarting at 30 years lowers the payment but can add interest overall — compare lifetime cost too.
