Frequently asked questions

Should I pay interest during the course?

If you can, yes. Paying the simple interest while studying stops it being added to your loan and lowers your future EMI.

Is education loan interest tax deductible?

In India, interest is deductible under Section 80E for up to 8 years (old regime). In the US, up to $2,500 of student loan interest may be deductible.
